Subject:Hello livejournal
Time:1:58 pm.
Mood: artistic.
Music:Stereo Total.
So facebook has taken over as my not-so-much-blog-but-a-place-to-waste-valuable-time-playing-silly-games place. I'm addicted to the Pet Society and Geo Challenge games. I've always preferred livejournal but I haven't felt the need to post about anything lately.

Well, I'll start with: the computer that has all the fun photoshop stuff on it is now back in working condition so I may fiddle around with that soon. I haven't done any graphics in a looooong time. But now that's I'm really into Battlestar Galactica, Dollhouse, and yes even Twilight and True Blood I think I might have some inspiration.

Life in general has been going pretty good. I got out of a situation that I wasn't sure why I was in it in the first place other than I was just confused with what I wanted for a long time. I moved back to TX to be around family, my grandfather has cancer which he's been going up and down with. He's now at a rehab place where they're trying to get him up and moving because at home he just doesn't have the want to to get up. He seems to be doing a lot better lately there, especially after being transferred to a room without a really snippety roommate next to him constantly complaining about everything. He couldn't even sleep! Yesterday though we found out my great aunt passed away from her battle with cancer. She only found out about it maybe a month or so ago. :( It's one of those things you wished you had spent more time with them. I haven't seen her or my uncle since I moved away originally which was about 5 years ago. She was one of the ones that encouraged me when I said I was thinking about moving away from Texas for a while. She told me I needed to go out and experience life, get away from the comfort of family for a while. And I'm worried about how my uncle is taking it..

I live in downtown Dallas now and I have a wonderful boyfriend. My best friend Blanca was just here for a while to visit and get a car so she could drive it back to LA. I wish I could have driven with her I just don't have the money to do it, I'd have to fly back and still make sure I could pay bills. But I do plan on visiting sometime, I miss LA so much! Chris and I are also planning to go to Italy in some near future when jobs are stable and there's money enough saved up! So we're trying to get a handle on some Italian, and I'm still trying to learn Lithuanian as well just to do it.

Movies; Watched the Watchmen opening night. Went to the 7pm showing and amazingly there was no line, it was pretty full but we got good seats. I tried to finish the graphic novel before seeing it but only got about a third into it. I was surprised at how by the book the movie was! Like, word for word! When do they ever do that? haha. It was cool, but in a way made it a little boring for the first part of it just because I knew exactly what was going to happen. I think it was a good movie, visually it was great and I like the plot of it but I don't think it was *AMAZING, greatest movie & graphic novel of all time, etc, etc* I think the slow-mo 300 effects might have been used a little too much, like when Silk Spectre runs from the firey apt, I thought it was a little over the top. But anyways.. I like that its not just a superhero movie, there's murder and heroes gone bad and politics, all kinds of things going on.

Rented In the Electric Mist with Tommy Lee Jones & John Goodman. I loved it! It had an O Brother, Where Art Thou kind of feel. Of course since John was in it, and I think one of the actresses was too. Off beat humor, mystery, and Tommy kicking ass. What more is there?

Books; I just finished Dead Until Dark, the first book in the Sookie Stackhouse series (aka True Blood on HBO). It was a very fast read especially since I've already seen the first season which was the entire first book. I'll get started on #2 soon, even though a friend told me that it gets kind of boring eventually because its kind of the same? I don't know, I'll read and see what I think..
Also reading the House of Night series. I'm on #2 right now, have about half more to go. It's a decent series, more risque than Twilight with language, sex, some drug references. Of course it's YA so there's more teen language, but it's not the kind I can't look past. It's humorous (I love that they mention X-men), has some mystery and they're very fast reads.

So I'm going to *try* to post here more often, even if I feel stupid doing so sometimes. And I get to see my hamster icons again!!

Subject:Rogue Galaxy
Time:6:25 pm.
Mood: cheerful.
Music:Goldfrapp.
I just bought this game for PS2 'Rogue Galaxy' I loooove rpgs and it was half off at Best Buy. I've been playing for about 40 hours so far, I apparently have nothing to do haha. I'm still looking for a job and enjoying a few days of not doing anything. Until next month's bills start to roll in anyway.

But anyways, I love this game and I want to look for fan fiction. Hopefully I commit myself to finish the whole game. With my gemininess I tend to start off gungho with these games and then I get burned out towards the end.

I'm in a Goldfrapp mood lately, I love this one: I love songs with that heavy static charge/electricity sound:

Subject:Recent rentals
Time:10:49 pm.
Mood: creative.
Music:MIA - Paper Planes.
I worked an overnight last night at work, I feel like I got a lot done not that it seems to matter at that place. I was off the day before so me and Kristen decided to rent a bunch of movies and these were our choices:

The Ten: It looked funny and had a few people I like in it (Famke Janssen, Winona Ryder, Jessica Alba) It was alright, I thought it was funny but it was a bit slow in parts. The jail scenes were pretty funny.

Suburban Girl: Yeah I only rented this becuase Sarah Michelle Gellar is in it. I didn't really like it, it felt very bad seeing her and Alec Baldwin make out as well.

Sex & Breakfast: I just noticed this one while browsing. I saw Eliza Dushku's name on the cover and had to get it! It was alright, kind of awkward. It kind of made me feel a little sick, feeling how the characters were towards the end. I think it was supposed to be a happy ending but I didn't really feel that it was. i wish it had ended differently with the two guys hooking up and Eliza's character meeting up with the redhead. But that's just me.

Macbeth: I'm not a big Shakespeare person, I just rented it because the cover looked good. It was a lot different from what I was expecting though. From the cover I thought there would be some cool fight scenes or something but it was pretty draggy. I spent most of the time reading while it was on.

Rise: I've been wanting to see this for a while. If you like dark vampire movies, you'll like it. Lucy Lui was great, and Michael Chiklis made it even better.

The Black Dahlia: Kristen wanted to see it, I didn't because I thought it was going to be gorey but it really wasn't. It was pretty slow and the narrating made me confused. I like all the actors but the movie wasn't that good, to me.

So that's it for movies. Well, we saw Meet The Spartans with some people last week, it was funny enough. I loved Kevin Sorbo in it, I didn't even know he was supposed to be in it.

I've been reading Out by Natsuo Kirino; I'm almost done with it. It's about this group of women that worked third shift at a factory and one day one of them strangles her abusive husband and her friends help her dismember him. It's pretty interesting.

When I'm done with that I want to get into Woman's World by Graham Rawle. The entire text is made up of peices of woman's magazines, so it caught my eye.

I never made it to the Con, I did not have the money and I feel like I get a lot more out of the concerts anyway. It would have been nice to see the actors I hadn't seen before but there's always next time.

Music:Of Montreal - Disconnect The Dots.
Hey guys, I've uploaded a handful of my Lucy concerts pics and a few convention photos here: http://home.roadrunner.com/~resbyphoto/livephotos.html

I uploaded a few videos from the concerts as well to my myspace if anyone wants to check them out: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.showvids&friendID=12152348&n=12152348&MyToken=aed2ef1a-086d-4541-b8ef-189be36e91f6

My experience from the events of that weekend.. )

On a side note, last week there was this charity thing in Hollywood that Courtney Cox was doing, and Alexis Arquette showed up of course because of David. Me and my friends yelled for her to come over and she stopped taking pictures with paparazzi, she said she had fans waiting lol. We got a couple pictures with her and I said I loved her in Xena. She seemed excited and said she had hosted something for a past Xena convention lol. She was so cool and seemed very appreciative of us being fans!

Subject:Lucy Lawless @ The Roxy!
Time:10:47 pm.
Mood: sleepy.
Music:Black Lab - She Loves Me.
Yay I've uploaded a bunch of pics of Lucy (and a few with Renee, most were all blurry) @ the Roxy, from the first night. I didn't have the money to go to the second night but oh well. Click on Lucy & Renee!: .

Plus here's a Xena & Gab wallpaper from Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. The title was inspired by the Anne Rice book of the same name, I think I could have done a better job of getting a more 'golden' look but oh well.

Kind of annoyed, I could have walked down to where Alanis was supposed to appear at the Nightwatchmen's concert at the Hotel Cafe last night. Of course we didn't go, we were tired from work and just didn't feel like spending the money on getting in if she wasn't guaranteed to be there. And of course she does show up. Again, oh well lol.

Oh! Just got my copy of the Lucy @ The Roxy dvd. I think its all from the second night though, which is kind of cool since I wasn't there but I wanted it to be from the first night so I could try and spot myself too lol. I think they should have filmed the first night, or at least made it a mix of the two nights. I think the audience reaction was better the first night, since it was all a surprise and all.

Ok, bedtime.

Subject:Updates
Time:7:33 pm.
Mood: chipper.
I've been using livejournal lately just to stay updated on Xena/Lucy Lawless news but I'm going to try and start posting again. Plus I miss the hamster icons! Since August, I've moved from Ohio to West Hollywood. I work at Borders full time, but I am looking for another job. Basically just passing time by going to tv show tapings (mainly Jimmy Kimmel, I live just a block down from where its taped) and just living the hollywood experience. So yay, that's what's been going on. Oh and we just recently got cable tv after 2 years of not having it! Exciting!

Due to comcast being taken over my Time Warner, all of my websites have changed. The Witchblade site got completely deleted somehow, so I dont' know when or if that one will be put back up or not. Responsive By Photo and Under Rug Swept are up though, except there's a bunch of broken links because of the change over. The website doesn't have a web based ftp thing at the moment either so it might be a while before I can fix things. It sucks because I've been inspired to update things and I can't do it.

I haven't posted here in forever! It's amazing how myspace has taken over everything. Not that I've spent that much time on myspace but you'd think with the option over the two people would like livejournal better. I like all the options and ways to network with this site, plus i miss my hamsters! Maybe I'll try to start posting here more. I'm trying to update my sites more as well.. I know I've said that before but I'm really really trying!

I just got over some tonsilitis. Started on Thursday, i noticed spots on Saturday. Went to an urgent care and got a zpack.. it gave me almost a 4 day weekend, plus I felt real special. I always do when I'm sick! I got a loooot of X-files watched too. I just bought the first and second seasons and I'm mostly done with season 1. I may take the occasional screencap as well. I've been uploading some random screencaps, right now there's some Xena and Farscape up.

Rented Just My Luck and Domino. I liked Just My Luck, one of those stupid movies thats still enjoyable. I also like Lindsay Lohan, I don't care what she does in her life. Maybe its the redhead thing. Domino I still have to watch. I've heard bad things about it but I think I'll like it.. that's it for now.

Work is alright, I get a break from Borders while they're rebuilding the cafe. It was nice having this weekend off even though I came into HI because they had Kristen by herself with 50 checkins, most of them hockey kids. It was just busy enough to make one person become very stressed so I went in for a few hours. It'll make up a little bit for not being at Borders at least.

I took down the Christmas tree last night hehe. And finally took away some lingering Halloween decorations.

Well I may nap for a while and then see how many more episodes of Buffy and Angel I can get Kristen to watch!

You are dreamy, peaceful, and young at heart.
Optimistic and caring, you tend to see the best in people.

You are shy and intelligent... and a very hard worker.
You're also funny, but many people don't see your funny side.
Your subtle dry humor leaves your close friends in stitches.

Subject:Excited for New York!!!
Time:5:26 pm.
Mood: excited.
Even though I don't think we can really afford it, I'm excited for it! I can't wait to see everyone, anyone that's reading this better beware that I like to take photos. A lot. To the point of blinding at times. But I have gotten better so maybe it'll be alright. But I do want some good group photos of us all at least. And some crazy drunk photos! Yee haw!

We saw Constantine last week, I really liked that movie. Keanu is always nice to see, and I always love these darker movies anyways.. This week we saw Man of The House with Tommy Lee Jones. It wasn't exactly laugh out loud funny all the way through, but I liked it. Tommy is awesome! Plus it was nice seeing a comedy type movie after all the darker movies we've been seeing lately. Next movie I want to see is Be Cool! Course we won't be doing our Movie Monday this week since we'll be in New York, but hopefully we'll have the money for it the following week.

My grandma's bday was on the 1st, called and caught up with her. Someone at work had a bday too and Malinda got a cake and we surprised him. Malinda said he 'had a moment' afterwards. aww. This was supposed to be my first day doing housekeeping by myself but Malinda didn't know I was doing that today so I got stuck helping one of the older ladies do her rooms. I feel like I did hardly anything though.

I installed Adobe on Kristen's laptop and actually made a Buffy wallpaper. I think some of these computers have cd-roms so maybe I can upload it later on.. if I can get her computer to make cds without crashing.

Oh I got Kristen to watch the first episode of Xena finally. I hope I can get her into the show, but I have to get her to stop making the lesbian jokes so she can actually pay attention to the show. I want to get past the first season since its the cheesiest season.. I really want to get her into Buffy too but she said she could get into Xena moreso than Buffy. Now I have an itch to watch some of each lol..

I think I ran out of things to type about.

Saw this yesterday with Rebecca. Yay for matinee price! Anyways, I thought the movie was alright.. though pretty slow. I wanted to see it for SMG and Ted Raimi, which I'm glad he got a decent amount of screentime! It surprised me how much SMG *wasn't* in it as well. Me and Rebecca kept wondering 'when is something going to actually happen?' and they kept boring you with showing the same type of thing happening over and over. I really wouldn't recommend this one to anyone unless you're a huge fan of one of the actors or something. I said afterwards that I would have rathered Spongebob hehe. Which I do want to see! And Bridget Jones.. Movie ideas for next week when I move!! If we have money. ahaha.

Music:Boxcar Racer - There Is.
These things make me laugh each time I hear them:

Love is a snowmobile racing across the tundra and then suddenly, it flips over, pinning you underneath. At night, the ice weasels come.

One way I think you can tell if you have a curse on you is if you open a box of toothpicks and they all fly up and stick in your face.

Too bad you can't buy a voodoo globe so that you could make the earth spin real fast and freak everybody out.

It's true that every time you hear a bell, an angel gets its wings. But what they don't tell you is that every time you hear a mouse trap snap, and Angel gets set on fire.

If I had a nickname, I think I would want it to be "Prince of Weasels", because then I could go up and bite people and they would turn around and go, "What the-?" And then they would recognize me, and go, "Oh, it's you, the Prince of Weasels."

I bet when the neanderthal kids would make a snowman, someone would always end up saying, "Don't forget the thick, heavy brows." Then they would all get embarrassed because they remembered they had the big hunky brows too, and they'd get mad and eat the snowman.

I don't think I'm alone when I say I'd like to see more and more planets fall under the ruthless domination of our solar system.

I bet the main reason the police keep people away from a plane crash is they don't want anybody walking in and lying down in the crash stuff, then, when somebody comes up, act like they just woke up and go, "What was THAT?!"

Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someones neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what is that thing.

Contrary to what most people say, the most dangerous animal in the world is not the lion or the tiger or even the elephant. It's a shark riding on an elephant's back, just trampling and eating everything they see.

The crows seemed to be calling his name, thought Caw.

It's funny that pirates were always going around searching for treasure, and they never realized that the real treasure was the fond memories they were creating.

Whenever you read a good book, it's like the author is right there, in the room, talking to you, which is why I don't like to read good books.
